Excellent introductory to advanced book for learning how to paint on silk and how to do advanced techniques. The World of Rozome: Wax Resist Textilesof Japan by Betsy Sterling Benjamin. Beautiful book surveying wax resist dyeing in Japan and covers both techniques and background. The Complete Book of Silk Painting by Diane Tuckman and Jan Janas. Another good book for learning how to paint on silk. |

The Creative Habit:Learn it and use it for Life by Twyla Tharp. A book about the process of creating written by master choreographer Twyla Tharp based on her own experiences of her 35 year career. Wonderful, personal, reassuring and inspiring. Art and Fear by David Bayles and Ted Orland. An artist's survival guide, written by and for working artists. The authors explore the way art gets made, the reasons it doesn't get made, and the nature of the difficulties that cause so many artists to give up along the way. |
