Seeing the Kern River canyon (and soaking in Kern Hot Springs) has been on my backpacking wish list for a long time and I finally got there! The river was remarkably full and lively despite the lack of snowmelt; the recent thunderstorms had provided a temporary recharge and we got to experience it.
